Thank you for visiting my website and your interest in wanting to know more.
I was born in Indiana in 1956 and raised in Kansas, Nebraska, Georgia, and Mississippi. I attempted college but dropped out to embark on a life journey that was as diverse and difficult as my upbringing.
In 2006, I finally fulfilled a rising dream by earning an Associate of Arts Degree with honors, laying the foundation to really begin my serious creative explorations.
In 2019, I was able to delve into a transformative experience, studying with renowned artist Nicholas Wilton in his twelve-week Creative Visionary Path program. This marked a turning point in my life as my art gained recognition and began to resonate with a broader audience.
My artistic influences span both ancient, mythical art, as well as the works of modern masters such as Picasso, Matisse, Dali, and Van Gogh. My style is a fusion of vibrant color, stylized lines, patterns and figures, creating an image that usually has both symbolism and metaphor. Utilizing mixed media, predominantly acrylic paint on various surfaces, I occasionally incorporate collage elements.
My artistic approach is intuitive, playing with color and texture to let my desires and Soul's aspirations shine through. My focus is a continual commitment to enhancing my skills, envisioning art as a conduit for personal growth and life's evolution.
My work explores meditation, mental freedom, and the rejuvenating connection to nature for mental well-being. One of my conceptual art pieces, "Heaven is Within," encapsulates my long spiritual journey.
In 2022, my art was showcased in an online exhibition by The Little Yellow Building in Brookhaven, MS, and in 2023, I was featured among five artists at Main Street Art Gallery in Hattiesburg, MS.
I reside just outside of Brandon, Mississippi, on ancestral forested land, and find inspiration in my ever-changing surroundings, often accompanied by my six rescued feline companions, otherwise affectionately known as my "art assistants."
